Is Dinner by Six better than Hello Fresh or Good Food?
YES!! Like those services, Db6 offers a new menu of fresh and nutritious meals every week. What makes Db6 better is that the meals are already cooked and just need reheating in your microwave or oven. No additional prep, cooking or clean-up! No waste either, as the meals are packaged and delivered in re-usable containers and bags. I hear that Db6 portions are much larger than the meal kits as well. My friend tells me that four servings of Db6 is always enough for her active family to fill up and then some.
Does Db6 deliver? YES!! Delivery is available in central Ottawa and Chelsea, Québec weekly. Your chef will deliver your order - over $40 - for $5-$10 to a location within 10 km of downtown.
Your order is packed in a reusable insulated bag or box and left somewhere inconspicuous by your door, or some other pre-arranged spot.
Do you take back and re-use containers?
YES!! I care very much about the environment and always consider greenhouse gas emissions and waste.
Db6 is packaged in durable plastic containers that I take back and re-use many, many times. I require customers to wash them and then I re-wash at high temperatures before using them again. I also have compostable single-use containers, for $1 each, on request. Sometimes it really makes sense to have a disposable container... I get it.
FAQ cont'
Can I order just once or twice, or once in a while?
YES!! No commitment is necessary but $40 is the minimum order and there is an extra charge for delivery. There is convenient parking in front for customers who prefer to pick-up their order.
Monday morning is the deadline for customers to place their order for the week.
Does Db6 make a good gift?
YES!! I would even argue that nutritious and delicious food is the best gift one can give to a friend or loved-one who is sick, going through a rough patch, or who has just moved. People in those situations are very happy to receive an edible care package. You can even give yourself a super-easy dinner party by ordering Db6 to re-heat and serve to your guests ;)
